Heather Durdil's Story
Food insecurity was a huge issue for me growing up in the late 70s & 80s and some days the only food that I consumed was my free lunch from school. I know firsthand what a barrier an empty stomach can be on a student’s success and I want to help open doors so that no child knows the struggle of an empty belly & pantry.Team Members

The Knit for Food Knit-a-thon will take place virtually on March 26th, from 10am-10pm ET. Zoom programming is completely optional! You could stay home on your own, get together with another knitter, or gather with a group of crafty friends at your LYS and stay offline. The choice is completely yours.
Story
Knit for Food Knit-a-thon is a 12 hour knitting
marathon to raise funds and awareness for food insecurity. The money we
raise will be equally divided between Feeding America, World Central
Kitchen, No Kid Hungry, and Meals on Wheels.
In 2021 we, the knitters, raised $265,810!!
In 2022 we raised $271,761!!
That means knitters raised over half a
million dollars with our knitting needles!! Can you even believe that?!
There are two ways to support the Knit-a-thon: You can sign up to
knit/craft for 12 hours OR you can donate!
