Our next knit-a-thon will be March 20th, 2027!

Knit for Food Knit-a-thon is a 12 hour knitting marathon to raise funds and awareness for food insecurity. 100% of funds raised will be equally divided between Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, No Kid Hungry, and Meals on Wheels.

In 2021 we, the knitters, raised $265,810!
In 2022 we raised $271,761!!
In 2023 we raised $340,000!!!
In 2024 we raised $379,010!!!
In 2025 we raised $530,840
That means knitters have raised over $1.7 MILLION with our knitting needles in five years!! Can you even believe that?!

There are two ways to support the Knit-a-thon: You can sign up to knit/craft for 12 hours OR you can donate!
To sign up, simply click the JOIN TO FUNDRAISE button next to Team Members, set up a profile, choose a team (or set one up) and start fundraising! If you don't have a team, you are welcome to join Team Knit for Food!
To donate just click the DONATE button.

Knit for Food was founded by knitwear designer Laura Nelkin and was inspired by her daughter's AmeriCorps position at their local food bank during the pandemic summer of 2020. Knit for Food is run by a small but mighty team of volunteers who put their all into ensuring the success of this fundraiser year after year!

What happens on April 11th? YOU WILL BE KNITTING FOR TWELVE HOURS!
You can stay home and knit or gather with a group of crafty friends (or do some of both)!

🧶There will be Zoom programming in the morning and evening of the 11th. The schedule will be out in late March.

🧶We will hear from the 4 organizations we are raising funds for, do bodywork to keep you healthy while you knit, and end the evening with a fantastic game show.

🧶Everyone who raises $100 or more will receive a link to the Zoom event.
