A Stars Hollow Yarns & Gilmore Girls Tradition
For the sixth year in a row, Stars Hollow Yarns is proud to take part in the 12-hour Knit for Food Knitathon—a nationwide crafting marathon raising funds and awareness for food insecurity.
Since our shop closed, we will not be hosting a live Zoom event in person this year, but I'd love for you to join the cause in any way you can!
Why We Knit
Food insecurity affects millions of people, including children, families, and seniors. Every dollar raised is split equally among four incredible organizations working to fight hunger:

As in past years, Stars Hollow Yarns will match all donations we receive—dollar for dollar.
In 2021 we, the knitters, raised $265,810
In 2022 we raised $271,761
In 2023 we raised $340,000
In 2024 we raised $379,010
In 2025 we raised $530,840
That means knitters have raised over $1.7 MILLION with our knitting needles in five years!! Can you even believe that?!
