SOS Critical Need Medical Care & Outreach Initiative

Springs of Salvation (SOS) is partnering with Kristell Willmer, a U.S.-trained Family and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of healthcare and global missions experience, to help provide holistic care and support to vulnerable people and communities in rural Malawi.

Kristell serves in partnership with local ministries and organizations in Malawi and the United States, providing whole-person care—body, soul, and spirit—for vulnerable individuals facing illness, disability, addiction, emotional trauma, and spiritual distress.

After many years serving in full-time healthcare in the United States, Kristell stepped away from that career to serve in global missions and outreach, supported through the generosity of individuals who share a heart for bringing compassionate care to vulnerable communities.

She is also developing SHARE Love Global, a holistic outreach initiative focused on serving the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of vulnerable communities and is currently in the process of formal organizational development and registration.

The SOS team met Kristell in 2025 and has served together in remote villages in Salima District. While SOS was bringing clean water and discipleship, it quickly became clear that many families were also facing serious medical needs with little access to care.

In these rural areas, children and vulnerable adults often live with untreated or advanced medical conditions due to transportation barriers, financial hardship, and limited access to healthcare services.

Kristell initially responded to several urgent medical situations encountered during outreach and has since helped ensure continued follow-up care, coordination with local providers, and mobilization of resources for families in need.

Working in collaboration with local district hospital providers and children’s disability support centers, she has been assisting in coordinating care, supporting follow-up treatment, and helping connect families with needed medical resources.

Through this partnership, funding helps provide practical support such as medical supplies, medications, mobility devices, nutrition support, transportation for medical care, and follow-up care for vulnerable patients encountered during rural outreach efforts.

Together, the vision is simple: to bring clean water, compassionate whole-person care, and the hope of Jesus to underserved communities in Malawi.

Supporting SHARE Love ministry work helps make possible:

• Ongoing living and ministry presence in Malawi
• Rural outreach, relationship building, and follow-up support
• Medical care, supplies, and coordination with local providers
• Practical support for vulnerable individuals and families (food, supplies, basic needs)
• Transportation for medical care and essential services
• Discipleship, encouragement, and spiritual support within the community
• Inner healing ministry, prayer, and faith-based support, including healing prayer and deliverance
• Addiction recovery support and walking alongside individuals in restoration

Many who give choose to support not only specific projects, but also general living and ministry costs. This allows Kristell to remain on the ground in Malawi, continuing consistent outreach, responding to needs as they arise, and building long-term relationships within the community.

Water Well & Community Impact – Senga Bay

Springs of Salvation (SOS) is partnering with Kristell Willmer to help bring clean water and practical support to vulnerable communities in Senga Bay, Malawi.

Since 2024, Kristell has been serving in this community, building relationships with local families, a village pastor, and the village chief while helping support ministry outreach in the area. Through these relationships, one of the most urgent needs identified by the community has been access to clean and reliable water.

Although the village is located near Lake Malawi, safe drinking water remains a challenge. Families often rely on unsafe water sources or must pay high costs for treated water. Many households are forced to choose between purchasing clean water, buying food, or meeting other basic needs. Limited water access also affects the ability to grow food, contributing to illness and food insecurity.

Together with SOS and local village leadership, efforts are underway to establish a reliable community water system in Senga Bay as part of a growing, long-term relationship with the community.

Senga Bay Water Project Goals

Community Water Well — $8,000
Provides a local, reliable source of clean drinking water for the village.

Water Tower System — $30,000
Expands water access to reach the wider community and support irrigation for food production.
