The Kobe Kekoa Foundation is a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization driven by volunteers.

🌟 Our Story

In March 2020, we welcomed our twin boys, Christian and Kobe. Hours after birth, Kobe was struggling to breathe and was rushed to Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. There, we learned he had a rare and critical heart defect called TAPVR.

Kobe fought through three open-heart surgeries, countless procedures, and many complications. In his short life, he showed more strength and courage than we ever knew was possible. On June 19, 2020, our sweet boy took his last breath here on earth and went home to Jesus.

Before he was born, God placed a verse on our hearts:
Joshua 1:9 — “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God will be with you.”
We gave Kobe the Hawaiian middle name Kekoa, which means Brave. God knew what he would face. That same verse now carries us as we honor Kobe’s life in the most meaningful way we know how—by loving others the way God loved us through the hardest season of our lives.

Kobe’s room was decorated with turtles, a reminder to stay steady and never give up. Today, turtles still remind us of his strength.

We started The Kobe Kekoa Foundation because of our love for our son, Kobe, God's love, and what God put on our hearts to do.
We support nurses and staff, CHD warriors & families, and non-profit organizations directly giving back to CHD Communities—the same people who held us up when we needed it most.
