Every year at Christmas, we put together essentials and treats for the ladies. This year, funding is low, so the WCCW Community Resource Council is raising donations to keep it going. One former resident told us, "This was the highlight of my year, just knowing someone cared for us. I cried all the way back to my dorm."

The ladies are always deeply touched that someone outside the gates thinks of them. To show how valuable a bar of Dove soap is to them, they earn between 40 cents and $1 per day for their work in the prison. The commissary charges about $3 for a bar of Dove soap [3 days' work]. Dove soap is a real treat compared to the generic lye soap the state issues. We have 366 women; help us make this Christmas special!

In this Christmas drive, we are also planning 3 more smaller gifts for residents each quarter. In the past, they received lots of gifts at Christmas but not much through the end of the year.

Thank you!
