For over 20 years, Las Casas has been welcoming, supporting and empowering one of the most vulnerable populations in our community: Immigrant newcomers. Las Casas provides a safe space where our students gain valuable English Language skills and build a sense of community.

And today, with so much fear and uncertainty in our immigrant community, we have increased our outreach and partnerships with other organizations in our neighborhood - ensuring our students have access to legal resources and other critical services.

Las Casas serves over 300 enrolled students annually - with classes offered in Oakland 3 nights a week. Our classes are low-cost and geared to lower level learners. Each of our classes is taught by a dedicated team of 60+ volunteer teachers who prepare and lead interactive and engaging lessons.

We only charge our students a small fraction of our overall costs - all funds we raise directly go to cover our program and administrative costs. Please support Las Casas so we can continue to provide a safe, secure environment for our students - giving them the support and confidence they need to engage with their community and build a better life for themselves and their families.
