TASP animal crisis intervention and mitigation have saved and enriched thousands of animals' lives over 15 years of operation, all with unpaid volunteers partnering with pet owners.

We are the only all-volunteer, all-species pet safety-net charity operating in the capital district of NY. Of the average 300 animals served annually by TASP, over 90% are able to remain in their homes with their people once TASP has intervened.

When TASP is invited to intervene in an animal crisis, each animal's situation is reviewed carefully and a custom-tailored solution is developed with the involvement of the pet owner, making them a part of the solution and a part of a more humane community. The kinds of services TASP offers are as varied as the communities we work in: veterinary financial aid, veterinary liaison, pet behavior modification and training, animal law counseling, pet grooming, transportation to and from vet/groomer visits, temporary pet respite and hospice services and more. All performed for free or at our cost, depending on the family's income.

TASP's mitigation services include fence and kennel erection, free flea and tick preventive supplies and free spay, neuter & vaccination to pets in low income households. TASP also stocks 21 local human food pantries with high quality, wholesome pet food, treats and supplies to help low income pet owners keep their pets fed and healthy.
