A Night of Mystery & Literacy

Unmask the truth and help us close the book on illiteracy! The Literacy Council of West Alabama invites you to our premier annual fundraiser, Characters at the Drish. This year, we’re turning the page on a classic "Whodunnit" as the historic Drish House transforms into a scene of suspense, secrets, and high-stakes sleuthing.

Step into a living story where you are the detective. Whether you arrive in your finest vintage noir attire or come as you are, you’ll be thrust into a live Murder Mystery game. Scour the room for clues, interrogate suspicious characters, and help us identify the culprit before the clock strikes midnight.

The mystery isn't the only thing worth chasing, as the evening features both a high-stakes Draw Down and various raffles with incredible prizes. Stay in the game for a chance to be the last one standing or win local treasures throughout the night.

Every ticket, raffle entry, and donation goes directly toward writing a brighter future for West Alabama. All proceeds benefit our mission to provide our new Literacy for ALL program, Community Book Clubs, and One-to-One Tutoring. These initiatives ensure that we can offer personalized support and inclusive education to every corner of our community.

Mystery-themed costumes are highly encouraged. Think Sherlock Holmes, 1920s Gatsby, or Noir Cinema, but are by no means required. Don’t let the mystery go unsolved; join us for a night of intrigue, laughter, and lasting impact.
