On August 13, Intuitionship will host LEAD LIKE A MOTHER, a free Seattle community screening of No Country for Mothers, a documentary about what Motherhood really looks like in America today, paired with The Untold Story of Mother Leadership, the mini documentary that outlines the strengths and skills Mothers bring to the paid workplace.

This event is more than a movie screening. It is a chance to bring Mothers, caregivers, advocates, writers, leaders, and community members into one room to talk honestly about the realities mothers carry quietly — the pressure, the policy failures, the invisible labor, the impossible choices — and the leadership, wisdom, and power that Mothers develop through care.

The evening will include the film screenings, a conversation with an inspiring panel of Mother-leaders, food and drinks, drawings for generous Mom-owned products, and mini professional headshots with an on-site photographer. Hosted by Intuitionship, Dr. Laura Marie Rivera’s research and storytelling nonprofit initiative, the event connects the national conversation around Motherhood to local community, storytelling, advocacy, and action.

We are raising funds to help cover event costs, including food and drinks, event materials, promotion, accessibility needs, administrative costs and the details that make a free community gathering feel welcoming, thoughtful, and worth showing up for.

Your donation helps keep LEAD LIKE A MOTHER free and accessible — and helps build a movement that recognizes Mothers not only as people who need support, but as leaders whose labor, stories, and power deserve to be seen and celebrated.

Thank you for helping bring this conversation into the room.
