At Lele Aloha, we are a Native Hawaiian-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Hawai‘i, dedicated to helping you be part of a thriving Hawai‘i through community regeneration. Our purpose is rooted in 💚 caring for the ‘āina (land) and our people, so that Maui’s land, sea, and spirit can thrive for generations to come.
🌈 The Origin of Lele Aloha
Lele Aloha was founded by Archie Kalepa in the wake of the devastating Lāhainā fires of 2023. He created the organization to rebuild and revitalize affected communities while keeping the 💖 heart and heritage of Maui alive. Our mission goes beyond rebuilding physical spaces. We strive to restore the spirit of community with 🌿 cultural stewardship and 🌊 environmental care. Together with you, we continue the legacy of mālama ‘āina (care for the land) and kuleana that has been passed down through generations of Maui’s families.
☀️ Our Programs
Through our programs, we invite you to help uplift the people and the ʻāina with us:
⛰️ Ma Uka to Ma Kai: Through the upland stewardship of Kahoma and the coastal voyaging educational experiences of Mānaiakalani, Lele Aloha connects mountain to sea by restoring native loʻi kalo, caring for streambeds and marine resources, and strengthening the relationships between land, water, culture, and community. This work is intergenerational and community-led, creating pathways for keiki, ʻōpio, ʻohana, and volunteers to learn, serve, and carry forward the practices that help Maui thrive.
💧 Hauola Grants: Through Hauola Grants, Lele Aloha supports community-led initiatives that strengthen health, healing, and resilience across Maui. These grants help uplift local projects rooted in aloha, mālama ʻāina, and collective care, creating pathways for ʻohana and community partners to restore, regenerate, and thrive.
✨ Join us. Care for the ʻĀina. Uplift the Community. 🌈
