Lemons for LCHAD is turning lemons into life saving medical research! When we started RISE for LCHAD our kids really wanted to be involved so this summer they are raising money through a lemonade stand.

Every dollar raised by the lemonade stand goes directly to Dr. Jerry Vockley, a world renowned metabolic specialist and the Center for Rare Disease Therapy at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Vockley is working on several promising therapies, including:

A new experimental drug showing promising improvements in cellular energy production, potentially preventing life-threatening complications like heart disease, muscle breakdown, and rhabdomyolysis.
Pioneering gene therapy designed to correct the faulty genes responsible for LCHAD deficiency, with the potential to eliminate disease symptoms for years following a single treatment.
