How do Jews view life after death?

Jewish tradition has wrestled with this question for thousands of years and has never offered only one answer. And many Christians are interested in learning how Jews understand the afterlife, including how Jewish views on this issue are both similar to and different from traditional Christian views.

Joining us for this conversation is Rabbi Dr. Juan Marcos Bejarano Gutierrez, author of the new book Jewish Views of Life After Death. Rabbi Gutierrez completed his doctoral studies at the Spertus Institute in Chicago in 2015 and is the rabbi of Congregation Zohar Yisrael in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

In this conversation, Rabbi Gutierrez will give us an overview of Jewish views of life after death and help us explore some of the similarities and differences between Jewish and Christian understandings of what happens after we die.

As always, we will dedicate time for your questions at the end of the meeting.

The Olive Tree Network is a FREE monthly Zoom meeting for Jews and Christians who are advancing or interested in the Olive Tree Campaign, a Bridge Builders Forum initiative dedicated to helping Christians stand against replacement theology and antisemitism and stand with the Jewish people.

The Olive Tree Network provides ongoing connection, resource updates, real-life case studies, regular touchpoints, and opportunities for shared learning with others on this journey.
