Keep the Joy Alive: Help Us Prevent Suicide & Build Joy in Anne Arundel County

Life of Joy Foundation has been working to prevent suicide and build sustainable lives of joy in Anne Arundel County (and beyond) for 6 years! But times have hit us as an organization and those we serve hard.

The struggle is real. In our county, an average of 79 suicides and 805 attempts occur each year. And nationally, 1 in 5 people live with a mental health condition. Behind each statistic is a person, and often a community, who needs ongoing support and hope.

And the need is urgent.

So we’re inviting you to Keep the Joy Alive by helping us raise $15,000 to further our mission.

Through our community engagement and support programs, we’ve been:

Linking hundreds of individuals and families to support when mental health wains and crisis situations arise
Journeying alongside them with prayer and safe spaces for healing connection
Educating helpers in how to support well
Addressing stigmas and ministering as voices of hope, faith and encouragement
Fostering integrative care of mind, body & spirit

But many challenges have limited our capacity for adequate fundraising and visibility in the last two years. We need help making up the gap.

Your support will help position us to pursue plans for 2026, including:

Mental health and suicide prevention trainings, including Mental Health First Aid & Soul Shop™
Community outreach with our Life of Joy Band & Songs of Hope program
Specialized support programs including LOJ Builder Events, various support groups & our LOJ Prayer Support program
A new Care Package program, to comfort those in crisis
The launch of our online Resource Hub, connecting county residents to life-saving resources

Every dollar makes a difference! With approximately:

$9,500 for programming and outreach
$1,000 for community building and organizational development
$500 for marketing to reach those who need us
$4,000 to “keep the lights on” - essential operations

Join us for "A Night of Joy" at the Shops of Olde Severna Park on Thursday, December 18th. Music, ornament decorating, amazing local business and their goodies, a meet n greet station, and RAFFLES!
