Last weekend, our volunteers moved more than 60,000 pounds of food.

Every pound went to families in Farmers Branch and the surrounding area who are working hard to keep food on the table. We're grateful for every one of them, and for every volunteer who shows up to serve.

But there's one thing slowing us down. The food comes to us on pallets that weigh about 2,000 pounds each. Right now we move them with a manual pallet jack, which means pumping, pushing and pulling a full ton of weight by muscle alone. It takes two volunteers to move a single pallet, and sometimes three. It's slow, it's exhausting, and it puts the people who serve our neighbors at real risk of injury.

An electric pallet jack changes that. With one, a single volunteer can safely move a full pallet in seconds. That means:

Safer volunteers: no more straining backs under a ton of weight
Faster distribution: trucks unloaded and food on the tables sooner
More hands free to serve: volunteers spend their time with families, not wrestling pallets

The cost is $2,500, and we want it in place before our next Distribution Day on Saturday, November 7. It's a one-time purchase that will serve our community at every distribution for years to come.

...if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry... then your light will rise in the darkness. (Isaiah 58:10)

Will you help us lift the load? Every gift, big or small, gets us closer.

Lift the Load: An Electric Pallet Jack for i58

Help us raise $2,500 for an electric pallet jack so more food reaches more families, with less strain on our volunteers.
