Acapulco needs us!

We are four sisters who were born and raised in Acapulco “costeñitas” – we have the most beautiful childhood memories growing up enjoying life in our humble town nearby called Pie De La Cuesta. Acapulco is a truly magical place. Anyone who has ever been there can tell you stories of that magic. Our hearts are broken at what Hurricane Otis has done to our families, friends, and ALL of Acapulco.

Hurricane Otis a powerful tropical cyclone made landfall near Acapulco on October 25, 2023, as a category 5 hurricane. With devastating 165 MPH (266 kph) winds. More than one million souls had minimal time to secure their homes and evacuate, resulting in unspeakable devastation.

As the daughters of Acapulco, we reach out to you on behalf of our people and our city. Today, we launch the Lift Me Up Acapulco Fund with a heartfelt request for your kind and generous contributions.

Acapulco, a city once filled with happiness and joy, now finds itself struggling to rise again after the tragic devastation caused by Hurricane Otis. This natural disaster has turned our peaceful and lively city into a scene of devastation and despair.

A city we call home and filled with love has been stripped bare by the storm. Lives have been lost, homes have been shattered, and families displaced, bringing immense hardship and struggle.

Our heart bleeds for our city, our friends, and our family. Basic necessities like food, drinking water, electricity, and shelter are scarce. We have already lost more than a hundred precious lives with many still missing. The city, which once thrived as a tourist destination, has had its primary source of income abruptly snuffed out.

Yet, in this darkness, we still see a light of hope. The resilience of our Accapulcaños gives us the strength to move forward.

But they can't do it alone. They need our help.

We are aiming to support 20-30 families particularly impacted by the disaster, to provide them with the most basic yet crucial life necessities: food and shelter. If we exceed our goal, the excess funds will be used to rebuild and stabilize our city's infrastructure.

Today, we are humbly reaching out to you for help. Your donation, regardless of size, will make a huge impact. Each dollar counts and each dollar will bring us closer to our goal of restoring Acapulco back to the lively city it once was.
