Emergency community support needed! A Black Disabled family with two elders need community support while their house continuously floods with sewage water.

Dec 2023 - Jan 2024 update : Our neighbors' basement began flooding at the beginning of December and has continued each week since, with anywhere between 4-6 inches of standing sewage water each time. Their negligent slumlord has refused to amend the internal plumbing issue causing this to happen and the city will not assist or apply pressure. This is an extreme health hazard for anyone, especially disabled elders, and we need community support in crowdfunding for them to safely relocate. A white disabled woman living with them died on December 29th as a result of the conditions of the property.

We've updated the goal amount to reflect the severity of this situation.

November 2023 update : BGE (Baltimore Gas and Electric) turned their power back on through the city's Energy Assistance Program (EAP) after approving their documentation. They need longterm support paying their monthly utilities bill to keep their heat and electricity service active.
