South Shore Bays Report Card Community Listening Session (virtual)

The South Shore Bays Report Card is being developed through a collaborative effort of scientists, environmental organizations, monitoring partners, and community stakeholders to better understand and communicate the health of our bays and waterways. Using years of water quality monitoring data, the Report Card will translate complex scientific information into an accessible, easy-to-understand tool for the public, while helping guide future restoration, education, and advocacy efforts.

An important part of the Report Card is the stories we tell — bringing the data to life through the experiences, concerns, and priorities of the communities who live, work, and recreate along the South Shore Bays. We invite you to join us for a virtual Community Listening Session to help shape the narrative behind the Report Card and identify the issues that matter most to our region.

During this interactive, online session, participants will take part in guided small-group discussions facilitated by members of the project team. Together, we’ll explore questions such as:

What changes have you noticed in the bays and waterways?
What concerns you most about the future of our coastal environment?
What gives you hope?
What activities and traditions are important to preserve?
What do you want future generations to experience?
What stories should be included in the South Shore Bays Report Card?

The session is designed to be conversational and collaborative — not a formal presentation or survey. Community input gathered during these discussions will help shape the themes, priorities, and public-facing stories included in the final Report Card.

Whether you are a boater, angler, bayman, environmental advocate, scientist, resident, or simply someone who cares about the future of our waters, your voice matters and we hope you will join the conversation.
