Story
Junior League of Greater Orlando participates in the Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI). From March 20-24, 2023, LBDI advocates will wear the same black dress for five consecutive days to illustrate the effects poverty can have on our society. By wearing a button that reads “Ask Me About My Dress,” sharing facts about our local community statistics, or utilizing LBDI marketing resources such as Zoom backgrounds and social media posts, participants invite dialogue among colleagues, friends and strangers to raise awareness about poverty. Participants will raise money to support the Junior League of Greater Orlando’s Mission mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the Greater Orlando community through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Gifts to the Junior League of Greater Orlando make an impact on the lives of women and our community.
