What is LLPR?

Limb Loss and Preservation Registry (LLPR) is a collaborative data hub designed to collect clinical patient data and perform analysis to improve the quality of care and functional outcomes for the limb loss and limb difference (LLLD) population in the US.

A prevalence study published on February 14, 2024, found that there are more than 5.6 million people living with limb loss and limb difference in the United States. Of that 5.6 million, nearly 2.3 million people are living with limb loss and another 3.4 million people are living with limb difference.

However, those are the only data we have on the acquired and congenital limb loss and limb difference population in the United States. Lack of population data has meant lack of US policy representation and, therefore, healthcare denial by insurance providers. Read the full study.
