In June, in response to increasing requests from frontline medics, Ukraine Front Line teamed up with Renegade Relief Runners and Doshka Foundation to purchase two uncommon but necessary medical devices: intraosseous devices (IOs) and iTClamps. You helped us purchase 50 IOs and two dozen iTClamps. They were delivered in mid-July.

Well ... they need more. This war is a bottomless pit; everyone always needs more. And they need much more than just IOs and iTClamps.

Certain critical tacmed items are cheaper to buy in the US, even factoring in transport costs. So we three are joining forces again. We're pairing UFL's merchant discounts in the US with 3xR and Doshka Foundation's formidable delivery networks in Ukraine to get as many of these lifesavers to frontline fighters as we possibly can.

We aim to raise $10,000 by August 21. UFL's president will fly the tacmed to Warsaw at the end of August. 3xR and Doshka's networks will take it from there, getting it into and then throughout Ukraine.

We've identified 5 high-demand items which are best bought in the US.

1. NAR Gen 7 Combat application tourniquet (CAT)

The gold standard combat application tourniquet. Soldiers generally carry anywhere from two to six in their IFAKs. They're one of the most commonly used bits of kit and the only universally accepted tourniquet, As such, Ukraine urgently needs a constant stream of them.

2. Junctional tourniquet

Junctional tourniquets are crucial in situations where traditional tourniquets are ineffective, such as in controlling hemorrhage from junctional areas like the groin or armpit, or in double amputations of the leg.

3. Intraosseous device

Intraosseous devices deliver lifesaving fluids directly to the bone marrow, potentially saving casualties whose wounds are so dire that they can't receive fluids intravenously.

4. iTClamp

iTClamps control hemorrhage by clamping the wound shut and promoting the formation of a "blood pillow" which helps keep pressure on the wound. They're especially useful on head and neck injuries.

5. Decompression needle

Decompression needles relieve tension pneumothorax, a life-threatening condition in which air fills the chest cavity. If the air isn't released, the pressure will collapse the lungs and the blood vessels that supply the heart.
