Help Send Lonny Back to Cincinnati! 🍺

If you've ever watched Lonny compete in Steinholding at Gyppo, you know the guy has some serious determination. He stands there holding a full liter of beer straight out in front of him while everyone else is shaking, sweating, and wondering why they thought this was a good idea.

Well, Lonny did it again! He won our Gyppo qualifier, headed to Quintopia Brewing Company in Quincy, and won the California State Steinholding Championship. Now he's going back to Cincinnati on November 21 to represent California at the U.S. National Steinholding Championship!

Here's where things get interesting. Lonny competed at nationals last year and held his stein for an incredible 12 minutes and 37 seconds, finishing eighth in the country. Pretty impressive, right? Well, the guy who won held his for 29 MINUTES, setting a new world record. TWENTY-NINE MINUTES! Apparently, Lonny has some work to do.

But that's what I love about this. He knows exactly what he's up against, and instead of throwing in the towel, he's heading back to train even harder. I don't know what kind of person voluntarily trains to hold a giant glass of beer perfectly still for half an hour, but I'm awfully glad we've got one representing the Lost Coast.

The hard part is Lonny's job. The training, the discipline, the burning shoulder, and somehow keeping that elbow straight. Our job is to help him get there. Traveling from our little corner of Humboldt County to Cincinnati isn't cheap, so we're raising $3,000 to help cover his competition-related travel expenses.

If 30 people kick in $100, we've hit our goal. But whether it's $10, $25, or $100, every contribution helps get our guy back to the national stage. We rallied behind him last year, and I'd love to see us do it again.

Let's show the rest of the country what happens when a little town at the end of a very long road gets behind one of its own.

Lonny, you work on that arm. We've got your back.
