WHO ARE WE? / ¿QUIÉNES SOMOS?

Our family, the Benavides, consists of two generations of artists. We are grateful and humbled that our art has achieved significant success in Bolivia and across Latin America. As you know, the life of many artists appears sensational to the public eye, but the truth is that most artists struggle through difficult lives full of disadvantages, and their talent often drifts away, never seen or appreciated by the public. Therefore, our family has been actively involved in social assistance for over 25 years.

In 1998, we established our first non-profit organization, the "SIEMBRA Foundation," with the goal of helping impoverished families by creating micro-enterprises in arts and crafts. For two decades, we operated through our SIEMBRA FOUNDATION, and in 2015, we established the CENTRO CULTURAL CINEMATOGRÁFICO. This non-profit serves as the social responsibility arm of our for-profit corporation, ARTISTAS LATINOS Ltda., located in La Paz, Bolivia. Through this initiative, we have impacted thousands of people with teachings, seminars, and workshops in the arts, production, and self-development.

After many years of successfully serving the community through non-profit efforts, our family relocated to the United States and incorporated the ARTISTAS LATINOS CULTURAL CENTER Inc. as a 501(c)3 cultural non-profit organization in Miami, Florida, in September 2019.

Nuestra familia, los Benavides, está compuesta por dos generaciones de artistas. Estamos agradecidos y honrados de que nuestro arte haya alcanzado un éxito significativo en Bolivia y en toda América Latina. Como saben, la vida de muchos artistas parece sensacional a los ojos del público, pero la verdad es que la mayoría de los artistas luchan con vidas difíciles llenas de desventajas, y su talento a menudo se desvanece, nunca visto o apreciado por el público. Por lo tanto, nuestra familia ha estado activamente involucrada en la asistencia social durante más de 25 años.

En 1998, establecimos nuestra primera organización sin fines de lucro, la "Fundación SIEMBRA," con el objetivo de ayudar a familias empobrecidas mediante la creación de microempresas en artes y oficios. Durante dos décadas, operamos a través de nuestra FUNDACIÓN SIEMBRA, y en 2015, establecimos el CENTRO CULTURAL CINEMATOGRÁFICO. Esta organización sin fines de lucro sirve como el brazo de responsabilidad social de nuestra corporación con fines de lucro, ARTISTAS LATINOS Ltda., ubicada en La Paz, Bolivia. A través de esta iniciativa, hemos impactado a miles de personas con enseñanzas, seminarios y talleres en las artes, producción y desarrollo personal.

Después de muchos años de servir con éxito a la comunidad a través de esfuerzos sin fines de lucro, nuestra familia se trasladó a los Estados Unidos e incorporó el CENTRO CULTURAL ARTISTAS LATINOS Inc. como una organización cultural sin fines de lucro 501(c)3 en Miami, Florida, en septiembre de 2019.

OUR SUCCESS AND WHAT IT MEANT TO PEOPLE

In 2005, our family, after years of working in various areas of the arts, took a bold leap into the world of filmmaking. By 2015, we had already collaborated with some of the most renowned names in the industry, such as National Geographic, Discovery Channel, History Channel, Mitsubishi, GoPro, and many others. These experiences served as our apprenticeship, honing our skills and preparing us for something greater: making our own movies.

Our journey from working alongside other producers to creating our own films was filled with countless lessons, awards, and achievements. It all culminated in the production of Deceit at First Sight, a feature-length film that broke records in our home country of Bolivia. It became the most-watched movie in Bolivia's history, and within the first two weeks of being on YouTube, it surpassed a million views. By the end of the year, it had garnered over seven million views.

But this film’s impact went beyond box office numbers and view counts. It ignited a cultural shift, showing an entire nation that what once seemed impossible could be achieved. People saw how we, without access to expensive equipment, built our own machines and trained a new generation of filmmakers. We coached them in both filmmaking and personal development, creating leaders and providing hope. Today, hundreds of people are involved in the industry, producing, working, and generating income—all because we showed them a path they didn't know existed. This journey wasn't just about making movies—it was about transforming lives.

NUESTRO ÉXITO Y LO QUE SIGNIFICÓ PARA LA GENTE

En 2005, nuestra familia, después de años trabajando en diversas áreas del arte, dio un valiente salto al mundo del cine. Para 2015, ya habíamos colaborado con algunos de los nombres más reconocidos de la industria, como National Geographic, Discovery Channel, History Channel, Mitsubishi, GoPro, entre otros. Estas experiencias fueron nuestro aprendizaje, afinando nuestras habilidades y preparándonos para algo más grande: hacer nuestras propias películas.

Nuestro viaje, desde trabajar con otros productores hasta crear nuestras propias producciones, estuvo lleno de incontables lecciones, premios y logros. Todo culminó con la producción de Engaño a Primera Vista, un largometraje que rompió récords en nuestro país, Bolivia. Se convirtió en la película más vista en la historia de Bolivia, y en las primeras dos semanas en YouTube, superó el millón de vistas. Al final del año, había acumulado más de siete millones de vistas.

Pero el impacto de esta película fue más allá de las cifras de taquilla y las visualizaciones. Desencadenó un cambio cultural, mostrando a toda una nación que lo que antes parecía imposible, era alcanzable. La gente vio cómo, sin acceso a equipos costosos, construimos nuestras propias maquinas y entrenamos a una nueva generación de cineastas. Los guiamos no solo en la creación cinematográfica, sino también en su desarrollo personal, formando líderes y brindando esperanza. Hoy en día, cientos de personas están involucradas en la industria, produciendo, trabajando y generando ingresos, todo porque les mostramos un camino que no sabían que existía. Este viaje no solo se trató de hacer películas, sino de transformar vidas.

OUR MISSION 2024 - 2025

From August 2024 to August 2025, the Artistas Latinos Cultural Center is focused on raising $45,000 to accomplishing its mission through three key projects:

THE PRODUCTIVE AND FREE ARTIST PROJECT

In 2023, we launched the Centro Cultural Artistas Latinos project with the goal of supporting low-income artists. This initiative not only allows them to dedicate their full time to their talents but also assists them in marketing their products and provides essential financial education.

This year, 30% of our fundraising goal is dedicated to making this project a reality.

THE ONLINE ARTISTAS LATINOS FILM SCHOOL FREE FOR EVERYONE PROJECT

In the wake of COVID, Artistas Latinos Corp. launched the Artistas Latinos Film School online in Spanish, offering scholarships to Latin Americans and Hispanics in the USA. This initiative was more than just an educational program; it became a beacon of hope for many aspiring artists facing economic hardships. Our dream now is to integrate this school into the Artistas Latinos Cultural Center, making it completely free for everyone.

This year, 35% of our fundraising goal is dedicated to making this vision a reality

Tras el COVID, Artistas Latinos Corp. lanzó la Escuela de Cine Artistas Latinos en línea en español, ofreciendo becas a latinoamericanos e hispanos en los EE.UU. Esta iniciativa fue más que un programa educativo; se convirtió en un faro de esperanza para muchos artistas aspirantes que enfrentan dificultades económicas.
