We shed light on issues often left in the dark.

What if instead of asking, “What’s wrong with you?” we asked, “What happened to you?”

That question is at the center of everything Luminous Minds Project does.

We guide people to look beyond diagnoses, labels, and survival patterns to understanding the human condition and lived experience to better understand themselves, identify their needs, and reclaim voice, choice, and self-advocacy.

We believe people deserve more than information. They deserve opportunities to understand themselves, develop practical skills, and participate in decisions about the care and support they receive.

We Are Seeing the Difference

Since March 2026, LMP has brought trauma-informed education, neurodiversity empowerment, self-advocacy, and creative practices into a weekly Life Skillz class at Everett Recovery Café, serving Café members and participants connected with Pioneer Human Services.

What began as a community offering has become a consistent peer-led space for learning, creativity, conversation, and connection. Participants can speak their minds, mindfully draw or color, explore difficult topics, build practical life skills, and be seen in their full humanity, maybe for the first time. In six month attendance has doubled.

Participants have continued returning even after completing Pioneer’s diversion program. We hear things like:

I wish I would have learned this when I was younger.”

“Why was I never taught this in school?”

These responses tell us something important: people are hungry for accessible education and conversations that are often missing from institutional services and traditional recovery spaces. This has inspired to take what we do on the road.

This Fall we will seek opportunities to Drop The M.I.C in communities to bring a new way of thinking, as the mental health industry deepens its understanding of trauma, brain health and recovery, we bring lived experience, community wisdom and creative nerve so you don't become a learning curve. We show other ways to heal our minds that goes beyond the Medical Industrial Complex that are humanistic and center the human condition. We get to the heart of the matter.

We align with individuals and organizations willing to change their mind and willing to learn a new way to think, with heart.

Why This Matters

Approximately 63% of U.S. adults have experienced at least one Adverse Childhood Experience, and 17.3% have experienced four or more.

Yet many people still lack the language, tools, and support to understand how those experiences can affect the way they think, feel, respond, and relate to others. Trauma-informed community education can give people language for experiences they may have never had words for, practical tools for regulation and self-care, and greater confidence to speak up about the care they need.

Did you know? Approximately 63 percent of U.S. adults have experienced at least one Adverse Childhood Experience, and 17.3 percent have experienced four or more. Yet awareness of ACEs and trauma-informed care has not kept pace with how common these experiences actually are. Trauma-informed community care and humanistic education give people language to better understand themselves, tools to regulate, and the confidence to speak their minds and advocate for the care they need. We don't just tell people about it, we show them how to implement it. This is a movement that will change mental health industry and gently request we change our minds what we have been taught. As we say, it's okay to change your mind!

People are asking questions, sharing their needs, and continuing to show up with open hearts and a willingness to learn, grow, and change their minds. We want to meet that need, but we also have to be honest about our own.

If we want this work to continue and to grow, we have to practice what we teach: to honor our limits, receive support, and keep growing alongside the community we serve. More Than Information LMP is building something that communities can actually use. A guidebook can give someone language for an experience they have never understood. A trauma informed class can become a place where someone finally feels comfortable sharing their truth. A creative activity can open a conversation that felt impossible to have. A peer session can help someone identify what they need and figure out their next step with dignity and empowerment.

We want to build on what is already working in our communities while making sure people leave with practical resources they can continue using long after a class, program, or conversation ends. Our goal is to make these tools and opportunities more accessible to the people who need them, while strengthening the community spaces already creating meaningful connection, learning, and support.
