Empowering Play & Inclusion in Cherokee County

Every child deserves the chance to play, learn, and create alongside their friends. However, standard toys, battery-operated games, and everyday tools often lack the accessible design features children with limited mobility or dexterity need.

Through Made Accessible, students on our FIRST Robotics teams (Firestorm and Frostbite) put their engineering skills to work creating custom-adapted toys, switch-activated playthings, modified scissors, and accessible learning tools for local families and classrooms.

What Your Gift Funds

Your donation does more than buy off-the-shelf items—it powers end-to-end development, hands-on production, and student mentorship:

Toy & Hardware Acquisition: Purchasing the base battery-operated toys, games, and tools to modify.
Engineering & Components: Funding 3D printing filament, adaptive 3.5mm jack switches, wiring, and custom-designed adaptive components.
Student Tooling & Ownership Reward: Investing in the 3D printers and tools our high school engineers use to produce these accessible items.

Investing in Student Builders: To honor the exceptional dedication of our youth engineers, students who demonstrate sustained commitment and outstanding production in the Made Accessible project can earn full ownership of the 3D printer they use—awarded upon recommendation by team mentors and leadership. Your support directly equips and rewards the next generation of empathetic innovators.
