Madison Minutes does a lot with a little.

Our small team has been consistently leveling up to meet our community’s needs since our launch in April 2021.

Here are just a few of the ways readers now engage with our community journalism:

• More than 15,000 people receive our daily email newsletter, which contains a blend of “news you can use” and other community updates. 
• Our reporting projects fill critical information gaps. Recent examples include a guide to winter in Madison and a dictionary of local civic terms.
• More than 9,000 people engage with our community calendar and events coverage every week.

Funding more journalism

We’re raising $50,000 in tax-deductible, one-time donations to expand our team. With your support, we’ll be able to increase our reporting capacity and hire our first interns.

While we are seeking philanthropic contributions, we know that long-term sustainability will require us to prove commercial viability with readers and local advertisers.

Since launch, we’ve worked with dozens of local advertisers, including banks, theater companies, charities, hotels, museums, stores, and festivals.

We do not put any of our work behind a paywall, but we do accept contributions from readers. Currently, 560+ people support Madison Minutes on a recurring basis.
