Story

Madison Minutes does a lot with a little.

Our small team has been consistently leveling up to meet our community’s needs since our launch in April 2021.

Here are just a few of the ways readers now engage with our community journalism:

Funding more journalism

We’re raising $50,000 in tax-deductible, one-time donations to expand our team. With your support, we’ll be able to increase our reporting capacity and hire our first interns.

While we are seeking philanthropic contributions, we know that long-term sustainability will require us to prove commercial viability with readers and local advertisers.

Since launch, we’ve worked with dozens of local advertisers, including banks, theater companies, charities, hotels, museums, stores, and festivals.

We do not put any of our work behind a paywall, but we do accept contributions from readers. Currently, 560+ people support Madison Minutes on a recurring basis.

What our readers say

“I'm still relatively new to this community (two years in August!), but this newsletter is the single greatest force that makes me feel connected to the community …” – Danny E.

“ENJOYING OUR DAILY MINUTES!! THANKS!” – Dixie M.

“Thanks to @MadisonMinutes, today I learned the city will text me each day to remind me about which side of the street to park on at night during alternate side of the street parking season,” – Mike W

“I am not one who generally writes letters, but I've been meaning to send one to you saying thank you for putting together such a comprehensive, fun and useful newsletter … I like the varied coverage, and how you assemble everything and present it in a high-level, one-stop shop way, including links so that readers don't have to go hunting everything down.” – Brandon

“@MadisonMinutes consistently brings to my attention local news that is 1) interesting/important 2) impacts me directly 3) gives me an easy way to stay engaged with what's happening in my community. People of Madison, do yourself a favor and subscribe!” – Hayley Y.
