Volunteering at Maine Needs gives you a first hand look at both the severe need and the beautiful generosity of Maine people. I continue to be amazed by the volunteers, MN staff, case workers, community members and corporate partners who dedicate their time, energy, ideas and resources to help meet the needs of our Maine neighbors. I love showing up on Tuesday mornings to see both familiar and new faces, all working with smiles and cooperation to tackle the never ending tasks of sorting donations and filling orders for clients. Seeing the high quality or brand new items that people donate and finding the perfect items to fulfill a clients list is an incredible feeling. Maine Needs works tirelessly to make the absolute most of their space but it is truly not enough. The need for basic items is immense and a larger space will mean more Mainers get what they need.
