Our keynote speaker is joining us from the United States by Zoom. In-person attendance is strongly preferred and encouraged, but if you can't attend in-person, we will allow you to join remotely. Please, if you join remotely, Zoom and Wi-Fi is required.

(ie: Put your Zoom on mute when you are not speaking to reduce backgroudn noise).

We are honoured to welcome Uchechi Kalu, CFP, as our featured facilitator for this financial literacy workshop. Uchechi has close ties with our U.S. Board of Directors, and this learning opportunity is a perfect example of how we can harness global communities to create local impact and opportunity.

Prepare to learn, participate, ask questions, and even be wrong! We are all learning together here, and it is incredibly important that we create a safe space. Money has many emotions tied to it, and this workshop will empower us to manage it for our current needs and future goals.

While in-person learning is the best approach for this topic, we will record this workshop and share it with anyone who is unable to attend. This is a free event, hosted by Mako in support of our community. We beleive that together, we can pave a path out of poverty.

Uchechi Kalu is a Nigerian-American Certified Financial Planner based in Los Angeles, California, U.S. She specializes in financial planning for first-generation Americans and financial literacy workshops for organizations. With a true understanding of money management in cash based economies with immense hardship and cultural considerations, Uchechi is uniquely equipped to empower our community with an interactive workshop that everyone can leave with lessons learned, and actions to take!

Uchechi helps people attain financial independence, and has worked with multiple organizations and hundreds of individuals since 2021. She has been featured in Yahoo News, Nasdaq, and MSN.com.
