We want you to meet Rocky.

This sweet boy wandered up to a home in a very rural community and, lucky for him, picked exactly the right house. The kind family there fed him for a few days before realizing something was seriously wrong. Rocky was vomiting everything he ate, growing weaker by the day, and desperately needed help.

The family began reaching out to rescues and shelters, hoping someone could step in. Thankfully, we were able to say yes.

With the support of our incredible partners at Animal Emergency and Specialty Clinic (AESC), Rocky was quickly evaluated so we could figure out what was causing his decline. We initially feared he had an obstruction blocking his intestines, but after further diagnostics, veterinarians discovered the real culprit: a serious gallbladder issue.

Rocky spent several nights hospitalized receiving treatment and monitoring. Thankfully, he's now out of the hospital and recovering comfortably in a foster home, where he's finally able to rest and heal.

While we're incredibly relieved that Rocky is on the road to recovery, emergency medical cases like his come with significant costs. As a foster-based rescue, we rely on the generosity of our community to say yes when dogs like Rocky need us most.
