Melanin Children Matter Inc. is a nonprofit organization that services children, heals families, and educates society about childhood rare diseases and autism, with a particular focus on children of color. Our mission is to address the racial disparities in healthcare by providing advocacy, funding research, and offering resources to families who are often left behind by traditional systems of care.

We are dedicated to expanding newborn screenings for rare diseases like SPTLC2-related pediatric ALS, bridging gaps in research, and expanding the National ALS Registry to include more diverse populations. Additionally, through our Autism Access Initiative (AAI), we strive to improve access to autism diagnosis and resources for BIPOC children, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive.

Our programs are built on a foundation of equity, community, and action, empowering families to navigate their healthcare journey and advocating for systemic changes that benefit all children, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds
