Memphis Street Animal Rescue & Relief has located a vacant space in Broken Arrow which they are in the process of making into an animal adoption facility. As you can imagine there is quite a bit of cost associated with initial set up of this type of facility along with the cost of keeping doors open and animals in their care fed and happy. This is where you come in! The Memphis Street team is in need of funds to help cover space cost, utilities, animal care, kennel set up, spay/neuter, vaccinations, and more. This plan and mission rely entirely on the support of generous donors just like you. Donations can be made one time or recurring to help with current and future needs.

As you may know, in Oklahoma, animal rescue organizations continue to be a vital lifeline in the overwhelming pet overpopulation crisis our state faces. Every year 11,000+ animals are euthanized in our state. Rescue organizations have been and continue to be instrumental in decreased euthanasia rates over the last 5 years however, this is an ongoing battle and more community involvement is not only needed, it is crucial.

Charlie was found in a dumpster tied up in a trash bag and thrown out with the afternoon trash.
He was whimpering and a young man reached in and saw something wiggling. That young man saved Charlie's life and we now have him with a foster family safe and sound.

WHO IS MEMPHIS STREET:

"Memphis Street Animal Rescue & Relief, an Oklahoma Paws 501c3 non profit organization, was born out of the childhood dreams, giving hearts, and can do attitude of some great people. We have come together to make a positive impact in our community. Our name is an homage to the Broken Arrow street where two of our founders met as neighbors over the fence assisting a stray dog in finding it's owner. The two have since gone on to become a lively and loving rescue household. Add in friendships that turn vehicles around to pick up stray paws, foster fails, and shared common love for black cats, and you have what we believe to be the perfect recipe for a dynamic and powerful team."

WHY BROKEN ARROW:

Broken Arrow is now the 4th largest city in Oklahoma and is still growing. At this time, there are no other public facing adoption facilities in Broken Arrow other than the local city animal control and a cat adoption window inside of a . Broken Arrow's median household income is 46% higher than neighboring Tulsa and 27% higher than Tulsa County, as a whole. Owner occupied housing rates are also significantly higher in Broken Arrow. All of these facts, and others, make Broken Arrow the perfect place for a new rescue facility with a public facing aspect. The Memphis Street team has a viable, well researched and ready to go plan

UPDATE : OUR 501c3 is APPROVED!!!! Memphis Street has partnered with an existing 501c3 rescue, Helpless Hounds, to serve as the fiscal sponsor while awaiting official 501c3 status so donations will be eligible for tax benefits, if any, for donors. Your donations will ensure the ongoing ability of our local rescues to make an impact and save additional lives in our city and state.
