The mental health crisis of black men is a growing problem. Men are less likely than women to seek help for mental health problems, and they are more likely to die by suicide. This documented project will explore the reasons for these disparities and the challenges black men face in seeking help.

The project will follow a group of black men navigating the mental health care system, and engaging in a specialized piloted program [B.Y.O.B], developed by Dr. Marvin Brown Jr. We will hear from them about their experiences with depression, anxiety, and other mental health problems before engaging in program, and after. We will also hear from experts in the field of mental health about the challenges that black men face in seeking help. The project will end with a call to action to address the mental health crisis of black men., and continue to campaign for the BYOB program We will explore what can be done to make mental health care more accessible to black men and to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.
