Missed Connections is a surreal romantic dramedy about Isobel Toussaint, a reclusive Haitian American painter living with fibromyalgia who escapes her isolated life by reading strangers' Missed Connections posts. When she's invited to exhibit her artwork at Art Basel Miami Beach, she must navigate an unexpected romance, overcome the barriers of living with an invisible disability, and finally step into the life she's always dreamed of.

Blending romance, humor, and magical realism, Missed Connections explores the unseen realities of living with an invisible disability while telling a universal story about love, ambition, resilience, and the longing for genuine human connection. In an era dominated by dating apps and endless scrolling, the film asks a timeless question: What if the beginning of your love story ended with a missed connection?

This film is ultimately a celebration of love, possibility, and the courage to be seen for who we truly are.

Director's Statement

I wrote Missed Connections because it draws from my own lived experiences. As someone living with fibromyalgia, I rarely see stories that authentically portray the emotional and physical realities of chronic pain, especially through the lens of a Haitian American woman.

Through Isobel's journey, I hope audiences will experience not only the challenges of living with an invisible disability, but also the joy, humor, love, ambition, and resilience that coexist with it. My goal is to bring a heartfelt modern romance with a timeless appeal to the big screen, inviting audiences to laugh, dream, and fall in love while reminding them that disability is only one part of a person's story.
