About the Campaign

This fall, Josué Morales is using his miles to draw attention to the need for safe, free, and politically empowered communities for all immigrants. A proud product of Mexican parents, he is committed to running each week, raising funds, and sharing stories from the struggle.

We’re connecting physical movement with social movement by inviting you to run, walk, cycle, swim, or move in solidarity with our communities and raise funds for the Olneyville Neighborhood Association (ONA)’s education and community defense programs with him. To keep things interesting, he has pledged that for every week he doesn’t meet his mileage goal, he will add an extra $10 to his personal contribution!

The Goal

Together, we’re raising $2,500 in honor of 25 years of popular education and community organizing in Olneyville and RI.

Your donation supports our work on the ground:

$10 funds a month of English classes or sponsors a workbook for computer skills for a student.
$25 equips one community member to prepare for the upcoming Walking School Bus, including KYR, CPR, and Walking Leaders training and materials to keep children safe on their way to school and back.
$250 supports a month worth of neighborhood organizing meetings and events at ONA, covering food, childcare supplies and materials so everyone can participate.
