We wish to engage in prevention, intervention and mentorship for our queer youth and young adults.

PRISM Club which stands for Peer Relationships that are Inclusive, Safe and Meaningful meets twice a month. All proceeds will be focused on funding the Prom Pride Prance and will assist us in generating funds to pay for operating costs such as a crisis number for individuals to call when in need as well as activities and events for the PRISM Club.

Our intention is to partner with the current organizations within LBK and ensure that we are filling gaps and collaborating to build a robust, safe community for our queer youth and young adults for resiliency. The suicide rates released by the Trevor Project are scary; 45% of queer youth seriously considered suicide in the past year. (https://www.thetrevorproject.org/survey-2022/) Smile Big wishes to reduce those numbers in our local area. We will also gather data to support the continued needs of our specific community as we grow and engage with the youth and young adults in Lubbock County.

We have partnered with Proximity Project of West Texas in an effort to provide an inclusive prom to lubbock and surrounding communities for high school students. We feel it is important to provide this prom for free and need the help of our community to do so. We need to raise $5000 to pay for the venue, DJ, security, photography and additional decor, snack items and drinks for the high school students to enjoy a night of safety and celebration. We will also be purchasing noise cancelling headphones for those students who have sensitivity to sounds and excessive noise.

We have three sponsorship packages for individuals who chose to contribute including $100, $250 or $500 that includes marketing on our website, safe space signs and the opportunity to have merchandise placed around the prom to experience.
