Types of Sponsorships

Champions of Native Education Sponsors - $5,000

You’ll be listed in the program booklet as the sponsor as well as on the website. The person or organization can receive two complimentary conference registrations and submit a half page advertisement to be included in the program booklet and website. Your name will be announced during the program.

Luncheon Sponsors - $4,000

You’ll be listed in the program booklet as the luncheon sponsor as well as on the website. The person or organization can receive two complimentary conference registration. Your name will be announced during this portion of the program.

Keynote Sponsors - $3,000

You’ll be listed with your logo in the program booklet as the keynote sponsor as well as on the website. The person or organization can receive one complimentary conference registration. Your name will be announced during this portion of the program.

Reception Sponsors - $1,500

You’ll be listed in the program booklet as the reception sponsor as well as on the website. Your name will be announced during this portion of the program.

Scholarship Sponsors - $1,000 or more

Sponsor a scholarship for a student to attend NACIC! This scholarship includes travel, lodging, meals and conference registration. An individual or organization may sponsor scholarships for students to attend NACIC in any amount. Sponsors who donate $1,000 or more to support scholarships may request that their logo be included in the conference program booklet and on the conference website.

General Sponsor - any amount

An individual or organization may sponsor NACIC in any amount without designating the funding toward any specific purpose. Sponsors who donate $500 or more may request that their logo be included in the conference program booklet and on the conference website.

Vendor Participation

Any individual or organization that has otherwise sponsored the current year’s conference at $1,000 or more may also request a vendor booth space for the conference. Vendor registration requests must be in writing and submitted along with sponsorship funding.

About Us

The Michigan Indian Education Council (MIEC) is a voluntary, not-for-profit, 501c3 organization that advocates for Indian education concerns throughout the State of Michigan. The primary concern of MIEC is to provide an annual Native American Critical Issues Conference (NACIC). This conference serves as an opportunity for individuals from a variety of backgrounds to hear about serious issues impacting Indian people and tribes in Michigan and holistically learn about best practices from professionals in various fields.

MIEC has a limited budget based on conference registration and donations. Our continued ability to provide an annual conference is largely dependent on donations we receive from external sources, including colleges and universities, state departments, education associations, and other nonprofits that support our cause.

MIEC is committed to continuing to host a space for critical issues in Indian education. With your support, we can continue to engage in this important work.

About the Conference

The conference attracts a broad range of people interested in Indian education issues in Michigan, including teachers, policymakers, individuals connected to Indian Education Act programs, tribal schools, tribal colleges, tribal education departments, and Native American studies programs. It’s a three-track conference, which means we offer three hour-long sessions at a time over the course of two days so attendees can choose the session that best aligns with their interests and goals. One of the three tracks is devoted to youth-driven content to encourage attendance across generations.

Past participants have experienced transformation and a renewed connection to Anishinaabe culture and history. MIEC’s goal is to continue to have a lasting impact in correlation to our theme every year so that this work can be sustainably continued seven generations into the future. The theme of the 2026 conference is “Sending a Message to Future Generations.”
