Join us for this special event! Two shows only. Help lift the lamps of truth and justice!

At this pivotal moment in our nation’s 250-year history, we are co-creating a cultural event to uplift and strengthen us as we enter the election season and an uncertain future. Stories and experiences of immigrants from many backgrounds will come alive through music, poetry, theatre, and song.

You are welcome here! Come join us for a performance in October. If you can't make it, help bring this production to life with a donation. Every ticket is itself a gift, and you're just as welcome to give without reserving a seat.

The performance features the premiere of a new choral composition We Lift Our Lamps beside the Golden Door! by Frederick West, Pacific Northwest composer and choir director. Inspired by The New Colossus, Emma Lazarus’ famed sonnet displayed inside the Statue of Liberty, Mr. West was commissioned to create this fresh composition to lift our spirits. Music & Arts at St. Therese Parish in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle welcomes the Migrations performance in their beautiful sanctuary.

Featured performers currently include:

Fred West leads his composition with performers: Singers of the Salish Sea; guest soprano soloists, Lana Van Boven and Meredith Selfon (of Dunava fame); and guest cellist Mathew Weiss.
Kent Stevenson, music director St. Therese Church.
Rose Wallace-Croone, Gospel soloist.
Margaret O’Donnell, local playwright and former immigration lawyer, and Amy Youngblood, Director, bring immigrant stories to life with an excerpt from their poignant play, The Detention Lottery.

Clearly, not all Americans arrived as immigrants or arrived willingly. We pay respect to Indigenous peoples who still struggle for recognition and sovereignty, and African-Americans who continue to bear the burden of a history built on their enslaved ancestors' labor.

Lady Liberty stands as America’s welcome to immigrants seeking a new life. Initially inspired by the French abolition movement, she carries the Declaration of Independence and a torch of Enlightenment -- a symbol, since our nation's founding, of freedom from monarchy. Join us in lifting her lamp.

Reserve your seat at the Donation button; seating is limited so we can't guarantee entry day of show.
Help bring this performance to life with a donation of $100 or more; you will be listed as a sponsor and receive two premium seats to our October 10 evening or October 11 matinee performance. Your donation will help defray production costs and sponsor any immigrants and their families who wish to attend. Every ticket is itself a gift! Thanks to our fiscal sponsor, Global Citizen Journeys, your donation is tax-deductible.

Migrations is a production of the Lady Liberty Project, est. July 4th, 2025, a tribute to the positive values of the Statue of Liberty, the US Constitution and Bill of Rights. Fiscal sponsorship generously provided by Global Citizen Journeys, a 501c3 non-profit organization.
