But in Africa, without health information, premature death is almost guaranteed, especially among children.

The problem across Africa is the chronic lack of health information. MiLHO Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a solution to this problem.

The positive impact of health literacy is real and is illustrated by Peter's devastating story. He was a 9-year-old who dreamed of becoming a famous soccer player but never got the chance. His premature death was due to an epilepsy seizure that could have been prevented if only Peter's parents had the necessary information.

Stories like Peter's are told across Africa. But it doesn't have to be this way. Premature deaths can be prevented.

We will focus our efforts initially in Kenya. We aim to print and distribute each type of pamphlet to benefit 10,000 people in Homa Bay County, one of 47 counties in Kenya. It costs just 26 cents to print and distribute one pamphlet locally in Kenya.*
