Our Mission

The World Voice Ensemble Inc. was formed for the educational and charitable purposes of giving international students of the arts and professional international artists the opportunity to perform, with Americans, in professional quality theater in New York City.

The corporation's purpose will be achieved by producing known and original plays and musicals that will include roles open in casting to Americans, as well as Asian, Spanish, Black, and White international artists. The corporation will also educationally and charitably benefit these artists by providing free line pronunciation lessons so that artists with heavy accents will receive the extra support they need to be understood on stage.

Our programming helps us meet these goals by giving opportunities to artists from a variety of different cultural backgrounds. One of the shows in our upcoming program was written by Makie Armstrong in the Japanese language and will be translated into English to be cast by a variety of artists in a colorblind casting environment.

The community we serve distinguishes us from other theater companies. We work with all nationalities but also provide extra help and support for Japanese artists who are trying to work in professional theater in New York City. We provide free pronunciation lessons and assistance to artists who have learned English as a second language, and we give many people opportunities they otherwise wouldn’t have due to language barriers and heavy native accents. We not only produce your usual musicals, but we have also translated shows written by Japanese playwrights to perform with multiracial casting in New York City.

Next Production

We are thrilled to announce that we will produce a musical show "Miracle of the Star" at the off-off-broadway theatre in NYC next spring 2024! This will be the first musical production after the pandemic period.

Performing arts, the act of expressing remains an immutable aspect in the midst of the ever-evolving pace of technology in the contemporary world. To express, to see, to feel, and to be moved by something is irreplaceable by any technology.
