Miranda Bachman is a Salina community organizer, mother, longtime healthcare professional, and Democratic candidate for Kansas House District 69.

After nearly 20 years working as a certified nursing assistant, Miranda turned her attention to community organizing and addressing the everyday challenges she had witnessed families facing firsthand. Her perspective is also shaped by her experience as a single mother and by her advocacy for families navigating special-needs services and other complex systems.

Her community work has included providing bus passes and emergency utility assistance, supporting veterans experiencing homelessness, helping families access food and other basic necessities, and responding to immediate community needs. She helped establish Salina’s community Sharing Fridges, organized free food distributions and community markets, connected residents with emergency resources, and helped provide free hydration and cooling resources during periods of extreme summer heat.

These experiences have shaped Miranda’s approach to public service. She understands the challenges facing Kansas families not only through policy discussions, but also through personal experience, direct engagement with affected communities, and efforts to develop practical solutions when existing systems fall short.

Miranda is running to bring this approach to Topeka, with priorities that include meaningful property-tax relief, safe and reliable water infrastructure, affordable and accessible childcare, stronger special-needs services, support for seniors and working families, and a strong voice for agriculture and rural communities.

She believes effective ideas should not be limited by party affiliation and is committed to working with Republicans, Democrats, and independents when doing so produces better results for District 69.

Miranda is running to continue doing what she has spent years doing in Salina: listen, show up, and get to work.
