My journey has been nothing short of inspiring. I previously held the 2019 Pre-Teen Miss Amazing PA and National Title, but in 2020, the pandemic brought a mental health crisis that made it difficult for me to fulfill my role of spreading kindness and reducing bullying. After seven years of focusing on my mental health and self-care, I was able to participate in Miss Amazing again this year and won my age division. I am so grateful for this opportunity to share my heart with the world. Miss Amazing has supported over 2,500 females with disabilities, offering volunteer projects and community inclusiveness throughout its ten-year existence.

Quote from my mom, "Her perseverance is truly admirable. She faces challenges every day, living with ADHD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, PCOS, Heart Arrhythmias, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Insulin Resistance, PTSD, and a fear of social situations. There was a time when she would not even leave the house, but now she shines on stage, inspiring others with her courage and resilience. She enjoys Disney World, the beach, diamond art, concerts, word searches, breathing exercises, and sharing her makeup creations on social media.

I am so proud of my daughter. At the event, I heard so many kind words from strangers and other girls with disabilities about Jaylene. She even made a judge cry during her interview, speaking about how she found her passion in diamond art and dance during her mental health crisis years. Jaylene is a kind, resilient, and compassionate soul. She has a passion for makeup and dreams of becoming a makeup artist or special effects makeup artist.

Despite suffering from social anxiety, she finds her shining moments on the Miss Amazing stage, surrounded by women who understand her and allow her to be herself. Jaylene is committed to giving back to her community. She will be coordinating food drives to support local food banks and partnering with local businesses to spread a message of compassion, resiliency, self-advocacy, and taking steps to erase the stigma associated with mental health.

As hard as it is, talking about it connects the world. You are never alone! Jaylene wants everyone to find their passion through the storm and learn coping skills to get them through the rough moments. Jaylene will be participating in the Miss Amazing National Event in Chicago at the end of July."

My passion presentation slogan is: 'Find Your Passion in the Middle of the Storm.'This reflects resiliency and self-advocacy through my mental health journey.

While Miss Amazing pays the registration fee, Jaylene is responsible for raising the funds to make this trip a reality. Flights, hotel stay, meals, transportation, media package, gala, clothing/costume costs, and more are all part of the expenses we hope to cover. Any support you can offer will help Jaylene continue her journey of empowerment and self-advocacy, sharing her story and passion with the world, and working toward her educational goals is deeply appreciated from the bottom of our hearts! <3
