What is Morgan Log House?

The Morgan Log House is a 1774 Germanic log house and homestead that was continuously inhabited from 1774 until 1964. Morgan Log House stands on land settled by the Morgan family in 1708. The Morgan Log House serves as a museum dedicated to sharing the everyday lives, stories, and craftsmanship of early Pennsylvania life and life in Towamencin through the home's history. It connects visitors of all ages to the region’s rich past through immersive tours, community programs, and preservation of authentic artifacts and architecture. Protecting this rare piece of history is essential—its original log construction and historic character make the Morgan Log House an irreplaceable landmark that deserves careful stewardship for generations to come.

This roof is not just a structure—it is a story, shaped by the hands of early craftspeople who helped define our region. To preserve this legacy, Morgan Log House must replace approximately 9,000 wooden shingles, each carefully installed using traditional methods.
