This year, we will celebrate the 2026 MLK Celebration Sacramento Capital Region, a powerful tradition that continues to unite and inspire our community. This annual event honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., while offering a space for reflection, learning, and action.

The celebration features dynamic speakers, live performances, and recognition of individuals making a difference in our region. We will also be honoring the 2026 Robert T. Matsui Community Service Award recipient, recognizing outstanding local leadership and dedication to public service.

Over nearly three decades, the MLK Celebration has grown into a vital community gathering in the Sacramento region. Programs like the 13th Annual MLK Essay Contest uplift student voices, while the Dorothy and Jerry Enomoto and MLK Committee Student Scholarship, now in its third year, supports young leaders committed to service and social change.
