Sista Afya Community Care was founded in July of 2020 with the purpose of providing affordable mental wellness care to Black women in the Chicagoland area. At Sista Afya Community Care, we’ve stepped up to create and hold space for what Black women are experiencing by meeting them where they are at; and most importantly letting them know that they have a community of women who are willing to support them to have lives full of wellness.

Sista Afya Community Care makes mental wellness care accessible and achievable for women on the Southside of Chicago. Through SACC’s three programs, Thrive in Therapy, Community Care, and Developing Mental Wellness Warriors, we provide a variety of ways to engage and get support: individual therapy, groups, and training at the community connection level. Using an approach that centers on the intersectional experiences of Black women, SACC provides our participants with community care, clinical interventions, and training to promote long-lasting healing.
