Story
Physical health and exercise are universally important, especially during this time of year when daylight is limited, the weather is cold, and holiday stresses are everywhere! RAWF's Moving For A Mission initiative encourages physical activity for our rare brain tumor community, while raising crucial awareness and funds for the Raymond A. Wood Foundation's research, education, and direct service programs.
Support the mental and physical health of our rare brain tumor community by making a gift today! Many survivors have to live with hypothalamic obesity and metabolic challenges caused by hypothalamic-pituitary brain tumors, making physical health and exercise that much more important…life-saving even. Similarly for caregivers, movement can be transformative for their mental health. In a recent study published by the RAWF team, it was confirmed that up to 80% of caregivers may be at risk for depression. Physical activity can help caregivers navigate chronic stress and combat isolation; especially during an isolating time of year for individuals and families unable to share in standard celebrations of the season, it is important to move…and to do so with a community that cares!
And, if you're on a mission to move with us, it’s so simple to get started!
