As part of our “Incentive Team,” you are the reason they Ride! Your financial support for MRO brings the excitement and encouragement throughout the day to complete the 170 miles from historic Rockingham “The Rock” Motor Speedway to the Surf City Pier, Surf City, NC. You can consider supporting them from the start at sunrise when the day ahead is all in front of them, or at any one of the stages when they will need the added encouragement to press on to the finish line. The final push across the bridge at Surf City is a climb of 70’ (seven stories) in just over 3500ft.

“Mile Marker” Incentive Team Option ~ You can choose to incentivize and motivate our Riders by making a simple commitment per mile they ride. 10 cents, quarter, dollar, 5 dollars- you pick the amount and just multiply by 170. Donate in advance to encourage or wait to see if they make it to incentivize, or consider being a sponsor of the event. Check out our sponsorship opportunities.

Meet the riders!

Jonathan Salmons

My name is Jonathan Salmons. I am the engine tuner on Brad Keselowski’s #6 Cup car. I started in NASCAR in 2006 in the truck series. I enjoy biking, the outdoors, racing, and ice cream.

Rob Lopes

Hometown: Carney’s Point, NJ

I’ve worked on the Cup side of NASCAR for over 30 years. Most of that time has been traveling full time with different teams as a Tire Specialist. Some of those organizations include Dale Earnhardt Inc., Richard Childress Racing, Hendrick Motorsports, and currently Spire Motorsports. My role has shifted to a shop-based position helping our race teams with tire data and information, and also as a welder and project fabricator.

I started riding road bicycles in 2019, and it didn’t take long to be completely hooked. Shorter rides, longer rides, any ride. Enjoy the outdoors and fresh air, along with the mental and physical challenges. Any day I get to ride makes it a better day.

Nick Terry

Hey, my name is Nick Terry, and I’m one of the chaplains with MRO. I started the MRO Ride from the Rock in 2020 as a way to help raise support for the ministry of MRO.

I’m currently in my 15th season as an MRO chaplain. Before stepping into ministry with MRO, I spent 10 years working at Richard Childress Racing as a jackman.

I’ve personally been blessed by the ministry of MRO, and it’s a great honor and privilege to now serve the NASCAR community in this role. The Ride from the Rock is one of the ways I get to give back and help support a ministry that means so much to me.

Thank you for supporting our ride and helping us continue to support the ministry of MRO!

Austin Osborne

I’m Austin Osborne, and I work at Richard Childress Racing as a CNC machinist. One of the coolest parts that I make is the single hubnut used by every team in the NASCAR Cup Series. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time outdoors and staying active. I’ve been cycling for six years and enjoy all types of riding, including road, gravel, and mountain biking. I also love camping and spending time with my wife, Katie, and our son, Jackson. Our family wouldn’t be complete without our two dogs, Buckley and Otis, who are always part of the adventure. I’m extremely honored to have been invited to participate in the MRO Ride From The Rock and I am looking forward to the challenge.

David Ragan

David Ragan is a NASCAR veteran of over 600 starts in the top 3 NASCAR Touring Divisions with his first start coming in 2004. David’s last NASCAR Cup Series race was the Daytona 500 in 2024. Since retiring from full time competition he has worked for Fox Sports as a NASCAR analyst and now currently a test driver for Ford Racing in their NASCAR program. David and his wife Jacquelyn attended Bible studies, weekend church services, and were able to grow in their faith of Jesus Christ with the support of Motor Racing Outreach. David still supports the ministry today and is riding to make sure that MRO can continue to love and lead the people of the racing community to Christ for years to come!

Jarrett Jedlicka

Jarrett Jedlicka is relatively new to the racing community but quickly developed a strong connection to Motor Racing Outreach (MRO) and its mission. His introduction to MRO came through attending chapel at the 2024 Daytona 500, where he experienced firsthand the organization’s commitment to serving the people and families who make up the racing community.

Since that initial chapel, Jarrett has continued to deepen his engagement with MRO and, together with Kelly Benefits, has been proud to support its mission through the MRO Community Centers, Better Half Dash, and Waltrip Brothers’ Charity Championship events. He values MRO’s unique role in bringing faith, fellowship, and support to the racing community and is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to an organization making a meaningful difference both at and away from the track.

Keith Carlson

My name is Keith Carlson. I've worked in the Cup Series as an engineer for the last 5 seasons, and I am currently the lead engineer for the 43 car. I have a mix of Super Late Model, ARCA, and Truck Series experience before my Cup career. I've been around racing my whole life and have been riding bikes since I was about 5. I enjoy any type of biking, road, mountain, and even the custom low riders I've built. This is my second Ride from the Rock, and I'm excited to take on this challenge again with a great group of riders for a great cause.

Daniel Hemric

Driver of the #19 for McAnally Hilgemann Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

MRO has been so impactful both on and in our family's lives. To have an opportunity to participate in the “Ride from the Rock” and help fundraise for MRO means so much to us. To know we personally have a chance to contribute some sweat equity to help further the kingdom is such an honor, and one that I can’t wait to participate in. We are all on our own faith journey, and I’m looking forward to this one ahead! -Daniel
