The MS 50 PTA is proud to support our award-winning debate team! Our travel Policy Debate team competes in tournaments virtually, around New York City, and around the country. In 2025, we were National Champions in Middle School Policy Debate at NSDA Nationals in Iowa! Past trips have included competing at NSDA Nationals in Dallas, Phoenix, and Des Moines as well as annual participation in the Harvard Debate Tournament where our students not only compete but are exposed to life on one of the nation's premier universities!

In Fall 2025, CBS Evening News featured our students for their hard work in debate and the impact debate has had on the whole school community.
