Join Masjidus Sabur on Saturday, November 14th at 1:00 PM for our 7th Annual Sister Halimah Abdul Jalil Scholarship Fundraiser.

For seven years, this fundraiser has honored the legacy of Sister Halimah Abdul Jalil by investing in the next generation and supporting students as they take the next step toward their educational and professional goals.

Supporting Our Future Leaders

The heart of this fundraiser is our Sister Halimah Abdul Jalil Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to three deserving students each year.

We seek students who are entering their senior year of high school or are in their first year of college and demonstrate a commitment to education, personal growth, and making a positive impact in their communities.

Your support helps make higher education more accessible and gives young people the encouragement and financial assistance they need to pursue their dreams.

This Year’s Theme:

“Embracing Struggle … Igniting Change!”

Our theme reflects the journey of so many of the young people and families we serve. Struggle does not have to define our future. With support, opportunity, education, and community, struggle can become the foundation for transformation.

Celebrating Community Leaders

We are proud to honor this year’s distinguished honorees: Ms. Anna Abreu, Ali Asadullah, Mercedes Torres, Michael Blake & Imam Abdul Azeez

We are also honored to welcome our esteemed keynote speaker, Asiya Nasir of Jessica Cares.

Our Impact Beyond the Scholarship

While scholarships are at the heart of this annual fundraiser, Masjidus Sabur’s commitment to uplifting our community extends far beyond education.

Through our programs and community initiatives, we have:

Fed more than 35,000 families through our weekly Halal Food Pantry.
Distributed more than 1,300 book bags to children in our community.
Provided more than 1,200 winter coats to individuals and families in need.
Trained more than 300 residents and community members in Mental Health First Aid.

We have also implemented programs that empower individuals and strengthen families, including ESL Classes, Natural Healing and Martial Arts, and our 12-Step Recovery Program, Millati Islami.

Help Us Reach Our $50,000 Goal

This year, we are seeking to raise $50,000 to support the Sister Halimah Abdul Jalil Scholarship Fund while also enhancing our Halal Food Pantry, now serving the community at three locations.

Your contribution helps us invest in both the future of our youth and the well-being of the families we serve today.

Every donation brings us closer to our goal and helps us continue a legacy of education, service, dignity, and community empowerment.

Give today. Support a student. Feed a family. Strengthen a community. Ignite change.
