Every summer, as the sun dips below the Providence skyline, something magical happens on the Michael S. Van Leesten Memorial Bridge. Families, neighbors, students, and visitors gather on the riverfront to enjoy live music at the Sunset Concert Series, a free community tradition that celebrates culture, creativity, and connection.

The bridge, named after the late Michael S. Van Leesten, a beloved civil rights leader and community builder, has become more than just a walkway. It’s a stage, a gathering place, and a living symbol of Rhode Island’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and the arts.

In 2026, we’re raising the bar. With your help, the Sunset Concert Series will:
