It’s Time to Rebuild the Heart of The Hill

For decades, Mulligan’s Hollow has been a beloved winter destination for skiers, snowboarders, and families. But behind every season of turns, lessons, and joy is something unseen: our snowmaking system.

Built over 40 years ago, that system is now at the end of its life. Aging underground plumbing and outdated electrical components have already caused ruptures and failures last season—and this season is proving even harder. Without urgent upgrades, we risk losing entire weeks of operation, limiting access to lessons, jobs, and community programs.

The Problem: A System on the Brink

Underground plumbing ruptures and electrical failures have crippled production.
Only 50% of our snow guns are currently functional.
Recent breakdowns during ideal conditions left four of six guns offline—losing us crucial production time.

The Plan: A Two-Phase Rebuild

We're launching a two-phase overhaul of the entire snowmaking system. The goal? Ensure reliable snow production for future winters—and preserve the legacy of learning, joy, and community that Mulligan’s Hollow brings to Grand Haven.

Phase 1 – Infrastructure Replacement (Target: Summer/Fall 2026)

Replace all underground plumbing and electrical lines
Install a new pump system and pump house
Lay the foundation for a modern, efficient system
Estimated Cost: $622,357.17 (inclusive of taxes)
- Mulligan’s is contributing $225,000 toward this phase
- Fundraising Goal: $397,357.17 by February 28, 2026
- Why the deadline? Materials must be ordered by end of February to stay on track.

Phase 2 – Snow Gun Upgrade (Target: Before Winter 2027/28)

Replace outdated, inefficient snow guns with energy-efficient equipment
Maximize output while lowering operational costs
Estimated Cost: $461,833.60 (inclusive of taxes)

Total Project Cost: $1,493,939.27

This includes every aspect—materials, taxes, and installation. Our immediate need is the $397,357.17 fundraising gap to secure materials before the February 2026 order deadline.
